30% of Consumer Magazine Websites Already Offer RSS

The International Federation of the Periodical Press group just revealed the results of their consumer media study, which show that 30% of all consumer media sites are already providing their content via RSS.

Among other things, this clearly shows that RSS is moving mainstream. Advertising dollars are already following, and so are the users.

What remains to be seen is what's going to eventually happen to sites that do not provide RSS feeds, especially if RSS becomes the standard for subscribing to online content.

What we can however say for sure is that publishing via both RSS and e-mail is becoming the norm, and channel integration never looked better.
