A now "deceased" website on RSS marketing and RSS publishing - a look at the history of internet marketing

A Note from the Author: The RSS Diary is Closed

rssdiary.marketingstudies.net was built to help marketers get the most from RSS. However, much has changed since the site was last updated in 2007 - and it's pretty fair to say that it's now completely outdated.

Since I've moved on to other interests in internet marketing years ago, the site is now officially closed, and only remains online as an archive of a part of internet marketing's past. This is how we used to see RSS between 2004 - 2007. We don't, anymore, but there's no harm in having a small part of our past available online.

With that, I'm also making the e-book that started all of this, Unleas the Marketing and Publishing Power of RSS, available for free download.

Blogsites, RSS Radars and RSS Search Engine Optimization: Interview with F. Andy Seidl, MyST Technology Partners

Blogsites and RSS radars have been a strong interest of mine since I started writing the "Unleash the Marketing & Publishing Power of RSS" e-book in 2004, due to their power of turning a site in to a preferred niche content source for end-users and search engines alike.

For those not farmiliar with the term yet, blogsites are sophisticated blog implementations featuring:

a] original blogs on a niche topic;
b] hosted blogs from other authors on the same subject;
c] RSS radars, aggregating content from multiple sources and again covering this very same topic.

All of these combined create a rich tightly focused web resource on a highly specific topic, serving as a one-stop-info-point for everyone interested in this topic.

The high accumulation of niche-specific content is also very search engine friendly and results in improved search engine rankings for the blogsite in question, which can be used to increase the traffic of your main site.

As such, blogsites can either be integrated with your existing corporate site or can be implemented as self-standing informational portals, which link back to your corporate site in order to drive new traffic, increase brand recognition and generate relevant business leads.

We interviewed F. Andy Seidl of MyST Technology Partners to find out specifically what makes blogsites work directly from the people that pioneered this concept.

If you're interested in creating highly-focused niche portals, expanding on the standard blog approach, becoming a preferred content source in your industry, increasing your PR reach and implementing RSS radars to please end-users and search engines alike, this interview is a must.

The interview covers all of the above, including the legals aspects of aggregating RSS content for the purpose of RSS radars.

Before starting with the interview, please open http://kmblogs.com. Much of the interview revolves around this example, so it might be easier for you to follow it with this blogsite on your screen.
