A now "deceased" website on RSS marketing and RSS publishing - a look at the history of internet marketing

A Note from the Author: The RSS Diary is Closed

rssdiary.marketingstudies.net was built to help marketers get the most from RSS. However, much has changed since the site was last updated in 2007 - and it's pretty fair to say that it's now completely outdated.

Since I've moved on to other interests in internet marketing years ago, the site is now officially closed, and only remains online as an archive of a part of internet marketing's past. This is how we used to see RSS between 2004 - 2007. We don't, anymore, but there's no harm in having a small part of our past available online.

With that, I'm also making the e-book that started all of this, Unleas the Marketing and Publishing Power of RSS, available for free download.

John Jantsch on Corporate Blogging and Referral Marketing

I interviewed John Jantsch of Duct Tape Marketing to get the "how-to" on corporate blogging and referral marketing.

No wonder, since John's blog was voted as one of the top blogs by MarketingSherpa.com readers, and his Referral Flood package is one of the best on referral marketing. His Blogging Business blog is also a great resource for everyone interested in corporate blogging.

The topics covered in this interview:

  • John's steps to producing a blog that won top honors by MarketingSherpa.com readers.
  • The difference between e-zines and blogs, especially in terms of the marketing affects of each. Is there a difference in the products you can market via blogs and via e-zines and direct e-mail marketing?
  • The gap between different content delivery channels, such as RSS and e-mail.
  • Business blogging strategies and how to implement business blogs in your marketing/business strategy.
  • How to integrate e-mail e-zines and blogs?
  • How to promote your blog?
  • How to plan the content of your blog? Even if you don't know what to write every day? The answer is simpler than you might think ...
  • Tips on blogging content for retailers and other product-focused businesses.
  • Using your blog to land traditional media interviews and publicity.
  • The basics of referral marketing.
  • The complete referral marketing system, step-by-step.
  • And much much more ...
