A now "deceased" website on RSS marketing and RSS publishing - a look at the history of internet marketing

A Note from the Author: The RSS Diary is Closed

rssdiary.marketingstudies.net was built to help marketers get the most from RSS. However, much has changed since the site was last updated in 2007 - and it's pretty fair to say that it's now completely outdated.

Since I've moved on to other interests in internet marketing years ago, the site is now officially closed, and only remains online as an archive of a part of internet marketing's past. This is how we used to see RSS between 2004 - 2007. We don't, anymore, but there's no harm in having a small part of our past available online.

With that, I'm also making the e-book that started all of this, Unleas the Marketing and Publishing Power of RSS, available for free download.

New Affiliate-Powered RSS Feed Service

I just got word of the ClickBank Product Feeds service, which takes the ClickBank.com product database and turns it in to an RSS feed.

The cool catch is that the service adds your ClickBank affiliate name in to the product links so that every time someone clicks-through and buys you receive the sales commission.

The service also allows you to select which product categories you'd like to show in the feed, and it can populate your feed with up to 200 new products every 1 to 24 hours.

"ClickBank RSS Feeds - is a new technology to convert the ClickBank's product database to behave like a news source (like Yahoo News). It fetches the product database from ClickBank everyday, adds your ClickBank Nickname to the product affiliate links, feeds the product ads via an xml link and refreshes the listings. The process is automatic."

An excellent implementation of the affiliate-powered RSS feeds idea.
