A now "deceased" website on RSS marketing and RSS publishing - a look at the history of internet marketing

A Note from the Author: The RSS Diary is Closed

rssdiary.marketingstudies.net was built to help marketers get the most from RSS. However, much has changed since the site was last updated in 2007 - and it's pretty fair to say that it's now completely outdated.

Since I've moved on to other interests in internet marketing years ago, the site is now officially closed, and only remains online as an archive of a part of internet marketing's past. This is how we used to see RSS between 2004 - 2007. We don't, anymore, but there's no harm in having a small part of our past available online.

With that, I'm also making the e-book that started all of this, Unleas the Marketing and Publishing Power of RSS, available for free download.

New RSS Metrics Service from Pheedo ... Exclusive Screenshots

Pheedo is just about to join the RSS Metrics game, going head-to-head with FeedBurner, leaving only Syndicate IQ in the higher-end RSS Metrics market without any direct competitors so far.

The metrics currently covered by Pheedo, at least for the time being free of charge, include:

a] Daily Circulation. Pheedo Analytics tracks the circulation of your feed and monitor trends in the reach.

b] Feed Item Activity. Track the number of views and clicks on your feed items. Determine which items are most popular with your readers.

c] Advertising Stats. Monitor ad impressions, clicks, CTR, and amount earned on your feed ads.

d] Feed Reader Stats. Track the software your readers are using to read your feed.

e] Number of requests for your feed. Tracks the raw number of times your feed was requested.

Marketers can rejoice about the new service, especially because more competition means more innovation, as vendors fight to reach the #1 spot in their target market.

Especially in the case of metrics, we might finally be coming to the point where I won't have to stand up at the DMA conference and go head to head with the speaker from MarketingSherpa, trying to convince him that RSS Metrics really aren't science fiction:)

Anyway, here are some exclusive screenshots from Pheedo's new service. And, remember, you saw them here first:)
