A now "deceased" website on RSS marketing and RSS publishing - a look at the history of internet marketing

A Note from the Author: The RSS Diary is Closed

rssdiary.marketingstudies.net was built to help marketers get the most from RSS. However, much has changed since the site was last updated in 2007 - and it's pretty fair to say that it's now completely outdated.

Since I've moved on to other interests in internet marketing years ago, the site is now officially closed, and only remains online as an archive of a part of internet marketing's past. This is how we used to see RSS between 2004 - 2007. We don't, anymore, but there's no harm in having a small part of our past available online.

With that, I'm also making the e-book that started all of this, Unleas the Marketing and Publishing Power of RSS, available for free download.

Sample Branded RSS Readers: A Great Lesson for Marketers

I've been doing some more snooping around RSSlvp's branded RSS Readers experience and got some great screenshots of some of the real-life branded RSS Readers already launched.

BTW - if your company is either providing branded RSS Readers or has one, getting examples to be published here would be great. 450px image width, please:) All will be published.

The example that struck me as most interesting is the MediReader, targeted at physicians and offered to companies targeting physicians ... almost without mentioning the word RSS at all, but rather posing it as a constantly updated encyclopedia of medical information.

All in all, it's a completely typical branded RSS reader, but presented in a slightly different context and especially in a more end-user friendly context. Physicians don't care about RSS, but they do care about getting relevant medical information as soon as it becomes available.

An important lesson here for us all!

Here's the screenshot ...

And the other samples I promised you ...
