A now "deceased" website on RSS marketing and RSS publishing - a look at the history of internet marketing

A Note from the Author: The RSS Diary is Closed

rssdiary.marketingstudies.net was built to help marketers get the most from RSS. However, much has changed since the site was last updated in 2007 - and it's pretty fair to say that it's now completely outdated.

Since I've moved on to other interests in internet marketing years ago, the site is now officially closed, and only remains online as an archive of a part of internet marketing's past. This is how we used to see RSS between 2004 - 2007. We don't, anymore, but there's no harm in having a small part of our past available online.

With that, I'm also making the e-book that started all of this, Unleas the Marketing and Publishing Power of RSS, available for free download.

The Challenges of Podcasting Interview With David Berlind, ZDNet

When I noticed that David Berlind, the Executive Editor of ZDNet is speaking on podcasting at the upcoming Syndicate conference, I couldn't resist inviting him to do an audio interview on the greatest challenges of podcasting, especially since this is a topic we haven't covered in great depth here before.

David was actually the first person at CNET to start podcasting and has since become a well-known podcaster, while becoming a sound technician himself. Namely, instead of treating podcasting as an amateur's night out, these guys believe that one of the keys to successful podcasting is the actual sound quality ... something that I personally often forget.

Anyway, just some of the topics covered in the interview ...

a] What's the revenue model for podcasting? Do advertising and podcasting, for example, mix well?

b] The business challenges of podcasting.

c] The technical challenges of podcasting, starting with your recording tools. David is constantly experimenting with different podcasting tools and shares his findings in the interview.

d] How important, and why, is actual audio quality?

e] Podcasting content strategies.

f] Why and how is podcasting changing the media landscape?

And so on. This is the one interview you cannof afford to miss.

And if you'd like to hear David speak live about podcasting, and hear me speak about RSS marketing, don't forget to take a look at the Syndicate Conference, starting this coming Tuesday in New York City.
