A now "deceased" website on RSS marketing and RSS publishing - a look at the history of internet marketing
I spoke quite extensivelly with Fergus Burns of Nooked while attending the Internationa Direct Marketing Fair in London. We also took about 5 minutes (really:) to do a short interview on RSS, which should be available quite soon.
Anyway, during our meeting Fergus also mentioned a new RSS directory they're putting together. They launched it just recently, and while it's still new and is slowly building up content, it looks great.
Here's what Nooked has to say about it:
"At Nooked, we make software for creating, publishing and measuring RSS feeds. In testing our software, we sought out a wide variety of corporate RSS feeds. We discovered that these were difficult to locate. We were eventually reduced to visiting individual sites and arduous Google, Technorati and PubSub searches.During this process, we concluded that there should be a directory of feeds, to help people find them and encourage their use. Of course, we already had a fledging database of corporate RSS feeds.
We decided to launch the Nooked RSS Directory. Anyone can add feeds using the Submit page, search our database or browse the feeds using categories. We're hoping that this will grow into a valuable resource to help all sorts of professionals: journalists monitoring a particular industry, companies keeping an eye on the competition, analysts doing research and so on.
Have a look around. If your organization has an RSS feed, please submit it."
