What's With All the Research Lately?

The last couple of weeks have been quite slow on the RSS developments side, but not for research companies. Is it just me, or is every research house out there just jumping hoops to get "the next big research" on RSS (lately especially podcasting) out?

Let's take a look at the latest from Forrester ...

"According to "The Future Of Digital Audio," a new report from Forrester Research, Inc. (Nasdaq: FORR), 20.1 million US households will listen to satellite radio, and 12.3 million US households will use their MP3 players to listen to audio podcasts by the end of the decade."

Give me a break ... how can someone predict the number of "podcasting" households in the US for five years in advance, especially for something as young as podcasting?

And let's not forget the faulty (I admit, I fell for that one) podcast research from Pew, which conducted the study on the huge number of 208 MP3 owners.

But I guess the sheer amounts of research shows that RSS is perceived as a hot topic ...
